Downtown Clinton

Downtown is the cultural, historical, and geographic heart of Clinton. After a day of water fun in the Mississippi, just one mile away from the Clinton Marina is the Downtown District. Find shops, restaurants, music and the River Arts Center, in a place surrounded by history, charm and hospitable people that has become a venue for live music events and exhibits of all kinds.

Riverview Park

Riverview Park is Clinton’s premier park located downtown on the Mississippi River. The park hosts many active uses, including the public marina and boat launch, Candlelight Inn, Showboat Theatre, Riverview Stadium/Ashford University Field, Discovery Trail, RV Campground, Rotary Playground, and the Riverview Bandshell.

Riverview RV Campground

The RV Campground 27 campsites, (2 ADA sites, camp host and 3 pull through’s reserved for 35’ and above) a pump out station, restroom addition, and new playground with poured-in-place safety surfacing. Each campsite includes a concrete pad, utility pedestal, picnic table and campfire ring with grill rack. 

Wild Rose Casino

Wild Rose Clinton dates back to the earliest days of riverboat gaming in Iowa. Once a cruising vessel, Wild Rose Clinton unites the charm of riverboat gaming with the thrill and amenities of a casino resort.

The Sawmill Museum

The mission of The Sawmill Museum is to preserve, collect, interpret, and explore the history of America’s sawmill, lumber, and forestry industries. Centered around the story of Clinton, Iowa’s rich lumber history, the museum features dynamic exhibits, programs, and events that explore the history of these industries, their current practices, and future opportunities and challenges.

Rastrelli's

Rastrelli’s Restaurant was started by Pete and Ida Rastrelli, my father and mother. Dad, an Italian immigrant from the small town of Fornaci De Barga in the Tuscany region of Italy, came across the ocean to settle in the land of opportunity.

Clinton Women's Club Tour

Organized in November of 1912 with the mansion acquired in 1925, the Clinton Women's Club offers tours of the George M. Curtis Mansion on Wednesday from 1-3pm.

Bickelhaupt Arboretum

The nationally-recognized 14-acre outdoor museum features a stunning array of select-labeled trees, shrubs, ground covers, perennials, and vibrant annual flowers. Witness the beauty of one of the top garden conifer collections in the country with over 600 cultivars. Other collections include native prairie grasses, flowering trees, shrub roses, wildflowers, ornamental shrubs, as well as stout medal daylily collections, monarch watch butterfly station, American Hosta Society National Display Garden, bird haven, and herb garden.

Eagle Point Park

Picnic, hike or cross-country ski in one of the Clinton's most treasured assets, Eagle Point Park, a 200 acre park set atop bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River at the widest part of the river. Attractions- a 1937 Stone Tower, Prairie Pastures Dog Park, a disc golf course, a rental facility- Eagle Point Lodge, 3 rentable shelters, playgrounds, sand volleyball court, basketball courts, 2 overlooks, walking path and winding road.

Mississippi River Eco Tourism

The education about and history of our Mississippi River and all the life that it supports draws tourists from all over the country and the world. Our state-of-the-art Eco Tourism Center will educate and entertain tourists, as well as provide an excellent place for local schools, families, clubs and all folks to explore our great Mississippi River heritage!

Come see the big fish of Iowa display and our new 8,000 gallon aquarium with local river fish species. Come for an afternoon visit or a stay in the campground. Rent a canoe, kayak or paddle boat and explore the backwaters. Or go on a naturalist guided cruise aboard the Blue Heron pontoon boat. This summer, make the Mississippi River Eco Tourism Center the starting point for your Mississippi River Adventure!
